Each Soft Paws® kit contains 40 nail caps, 2 tubes of adhesive, applicator tips, and easy-to-follow instructions. One kit contains enough for 4 front paw applications and each application lasts approximately 4 to 6 weeks, which makes each kit lasts approximately 4 to 6 months.

Kitten Size: (Less than 6 months old)

Soft Paws will fit most kittens by the time they reach the age of 16 weeks (4 months). Some kittens can wear them as early as age 12 weeks (3 months) . To test, try a nail cap on first without the adhesive. If it looks too big, don't glue it on. The nail cap should fit snugly, like a glove, but not cover the cuticle.

To accommodate smaller kittens, you can trim the base of the nail cap, making it smaller so it will fit your kitten's nail.

The kitten size generally fits kittens up to about 5 pounds and about 5 months of age.

Great Product - Size gauge is accurate

Purchased the caps for my kitten that weighed 5.1 # - 5 months at the time but 6.1 when were put on two weeks later. The Kitten size barely fit, but did and did well. Definitely believe that the company gauge of 5# - 5 Month for Kitten size is valid.
So glad I discovered these!

The caps fall off my kitten pretty quickly. I've had to replace 5 in about 10 days when I only put 10 on total...its much quicker than what they advertise.
They're Alright, but expect to go through the box fast.

We bought these a few weeks ago as an alternative to getting our cat declawed. They do their job of covering the cats nails, when the stay on. In the two weeks our cat has been wearing them(only on his front paws) we have replaced a total of 15 nail caps. Maybe you will have better luck?

Almost all of them came off my 3+month old kitten's paws in less than a week. He did not try to remove them. They are very difficult to apply on a squirming, biting kitten. I will see if my vet will apply them.

Wonderful Alternative to Declawing

I was looking for some way out of declawing my kitten, Oswalde. I've grown up declawing my cats when they reached a certain age but I never felt good about it. When I finally moved out of my parents house, I got my first kitten and I couldn't imagining hurting him like that. I searched up alternative online and came across soft paws. They were relatively easy to put on him and they stay on extremely well! He can no longer cause the same amount of damage to furniture that he previously could. He can still knead his paws and use the litterbox without it causing him pain. He can still retract his claws normally as it's just a cover to the nail. He also looks absolutely adorable in them! I can't wait for Halloween as he's a black cat and I'm looking forward to giving him orange nails to celebrate the holiday!

This is a great product to consider over declawing. Please read about declawing and you will not consider it. As with softpaws I give them a 5 but rated them a 4 simply because they do not stay on as long as they advertise. My kitten loses one every few days or so and I simply replace that one. There is a learning curve with putting them on as I was not using enough glue. Once I started using more glue they stayed on longer. Great product and I will continue to use these.

The soft paws were installed correctly by an experienced person. They were great for a few days but then started falling off.
