The nail caps are applied to your cat's claws using a non-toxic, cold-bonding, veterinary-grade adhesive, and are a completely safe and humane solution to cat scratching problems. Soft Paws do not interfere with the normal extension and retraction of claws, and most cats don't even know they are wearing them.

Each Soft Paws® kit contains 40 nail caps, 2 tubes of adhesive, applicator tips, and easy-to-follow instructions. One kit contains enough for 4 front paw applications and each application lasts approximately 4 to 6 weeks, which makes each kit lasts approximately 4 to 6 months.

Kitten Size: (Less than 6 months old)

Soft Paws will fit most kittens by the time they reach the age of 16 weeks (4 months). Some kittens can wear them as early as age 12 weeks (3 months) . To test, try a nail cap on first without the adhesive. If it looks too big, don't glue it on. The nail cap should fit snugly, like a glove, but not cover the cuticle.

To accommodate smaller kittens, you can trim the base of the nail cap, making it smaller so it will fit your kitten's nail.

The kitten size generally fits kittens up to about 5 pounds and about 5 months of age.

Excellent product

I recently purchased soft paws after my new kitten had been scratching me and my furniture. I've been very happy with the product so far. Soft paws are very easy to apply; my kitten didn't mind at all and they work like a charm. I'm happy because can't scratch me anymore and they don't bother him. I can tell I will be able to use soft paws for my cat's whole life.

Our last cat had been declawed when we adopted him, so when we adopted a kitten with claws a few weeks ago, I worried that our grandchildren would be afraid of her or, worse, get hurt. These caps are wonderful! We put caps on front and back paws, since she has a powerful jump off of laps that can be painful without covering the claws. Every couple days we check to make sure all of them are in place, and it just takes a few seconds to replace any that have come off. We've been told she'll get used to them and stop biting on them, so we're hopeful they will eventually last longer (some have been on 3 weeks but others have been replaced once or twice since then).

We had rescued a kitten that we had found out in the rain and she was only about 4 weeks old, but packed with energy and once we got her home I realized that if I didn't do something she was going to have the whole place torn to shreds in a matter of weeks! I had called and thought about having her declawed, but she was way too young so I started doing my research and found this product. I ordered the kitten size and did have to trim it a little to fit her, but they have been amazing! I have had to replace only one so far and it's been about 3 weeks since I put them on. If you are looking for something that is both humane and safe for your cat and your furniture then I would definitely recommend these!

I do think this is an excellent product however, I've gone through about 30 nail caps in a month. Given the kitten's small claws it appears that there is not much surface area for the caps to adhere onto, and our cat gets them off Hope things imrove once our kitten gets bigger. Additionally, as I have used almost all the caps in one month, the supply of applicator tips was deficient. I would suggest that more tips be included in a package..

I thought I would try the soft paws on our 2 new kittens. I heard Jackson Galaxy talk about the soft paws in one of his episodes. I read all about the Soft Paws and I thought they would be worth trying. Our kittens were starting to show interest in scratching on the furniture. The first time we applied the Soft Paws we had to put 10 on each cat. The cats were not thrilled to be held for the short time it took to put the Soft Paws on them. My kittens didn't seem to notice that their claws were covered and they did not try to bite them off. After a week each kitten lost a few due to their claws growing out. Putting on just a few Soft Paws for upkeep of their nails went very quick and I don't even think they notices we did anything. I would recommend these to anyone with cats. I feel like we are protecting our furniture without having to put our babies through amputation surgery.

I have a four month old kitten and I dont believe in de-clawing because it is so painful and inhumane, that when I saw these was delighted! She cant tear up my furniture but yet feels just like she has nothing on her nails, was a breeze to put on also. I high recommend them.
