Great at trapping larger debris

I have a Drinkwell that uses both this filter and a charcoal filter. I've stopped using the charcoal filter because it seems to clog and slow water flow within a week or so of installing. However, the foam pre-filter works great at stopping hair, food particles and other larger debris from getting into the filter. I like that I can wash it out and re-use it between replacements.
